Afternoon at Umstead State Park

February 29, 2016 Sarah Coggins

Taking advantage of the return of warm weather, we headed out after our daughter’s morning nap yesterday for a couple hours at Umstead State Park. We had fun wandering the trails and finding our way down to the Lake.

Supplies: Collage template by Sahin Designs; How ‘Bout Them Apples kit by Mommyish (papers); Have Coordinates Will Cache by Amber LaBau (flower, trees, paper); Start Here elements by Sara Gleason (arrows).

We also stopped by one of the picnic shelters for a visit with the Park Ranger. As part of the NC State Parks 100 Year Celebration she was leading a program to learn about various four-legged wildlife and ended with making S’mores. Needless to say, it was a very fun (and tasty!) afternoon.

How did you spend your weekend?

It was a fun day and perfect weather - warm enough for short sleeves but not hot & humid.

You guys have the best adventures! Our weekends are so crammed lately, I was telling the hubby we need another one soon. Adding smores would make it even better!

We really just try to get out to a park or two to burn kid energy. ;) This was an added plus that the park had a free program that day including S'mores. I might have been watching the calendar for it.
