The snow a week ago meant a shift in our weekend schedule to accommodate Dylan’s makeup school day (yep, Saturday school when you’re year round) plus a rescheduled baptism. We headed downtown yesterday afternoon to NC Museum of Natural Sciences for the final day of the annual Astronomy Days.
Supplies: Project Mouse No 2 papers & elements by Britt-ish Designs & Sahlin Studio (paper, date label); Thirty-one kit by Amber LaBau and Sara Gleason (patterned paper); Happy Hipster elements by Amy Wolff (stars); All Things New collab kit (stars).
We had a blast. 😉 The weather was perfect for enjoying the bottle rockets which, of course, Dylan wanted to do over and over and over again. Elise had fun watching and was mesmerized by it all even though she jumped slightly each time they were released.
We also learned about scorpions and hissing cockroaches (yeah, I kept my distance from those!); checked out some constellations; coded a small robot; looked at the sun through a telescope; posed with NASA’s Spacey Casey; and made a Mars Rover model. It was a very busy afternoon!
Have you been to Astronomy Days or a similar event in your area?
