I briefly mentioned in my Project 52 Photos post last Thursday that we had taken a quick day trip to Charlotte. Trent had an appointment and I decided to accompany him for the trip.
After putting our son on the bus for school, we loaded up. Our first stop was Starbucks for coffees, then we started the 2-1/2 hour drive. Our daughter napped almost the entire ride both ways which was a win. We enjoyed relaxing, uninterrupted conversation. Any parent reading this can relate to what a treat that is!

My daughter & I spent some time watching planes outside of Charlotte-Douglas airport while Trent was at his appointment. Even though she sees them fly over our house nearly daily as they come into RDU, this was a bit of a different angle. She was quite fascinated by the planes and people moving around the outside of one of the terminals.
Before leaving the area, we stopped at Concord Mills for lunch plus a bit of leg stretching. We had fun window shopping including looking for new shades for her (she’s been rocking her brother’s newborn pair which are now too small). We also picked out a cute Minnie Mouse bodysuit for her at the Disney Store. That we couldn’t resist purchasing.
It’s a rare day she gets solo attention from both her parents. This was our first big adventure just the 3 of us. It definitely deserved its own page for her album.
If you have more than one child, any tips for me on squeezing in one-on-one time with each of them as they get older?
