Disney Toddler Girl Outfit Ideas: Consignment Finds

Disney Themed Outfits for Vacations

February 16, 2018 Sarah Coggins

One of my favorite parts of taking my kids on Disney vacations – besides the actual vacations, of course – is attiring them in cute Disney themed outfits. I’ve found a way to master this with very little cash spent so we can invest more in the vacation budget than on their attire.

Disney Themed Outfits: Tips to Save and Dress the Part on Vacation

Secondhand Success

My number one place to shop for Disney themed outfits? Consignment sales! I’ve learned I can rack up on Disney t-shirts for both my kids at a very minimal cost ($3 or less each).

During my consignment shopping spree last weekend, I found a variety of cute shirts for both kids. I started playing with all of the items I purchased for my daughter and realized I had selected a number of pieces that were perfect for creating full outfits. We had fun mixing and matching to see what worked best.

Princess Style

My daughter hasn’t yet reached the phase of wanting to wear a princess dress everywhere. Our trip to Walt Disney World last May I didn’t even pack one because I felt like the weather was much too hot. This year, we’re taking our first Disney Cruise and I’m definitely planning to pack the 2 dresses she owns including the Elsa dress she received for Christmas.

Frozen Fever: Princess Elsa

The other is an adorable Disney Store Minnie Mouse dress I scored on a local Facebook group for $5 two years ago! Thankfully I had the foresight to jump at the chance to buy a size 4 dress then. She still loves it. And, best of all, at that price I don’t have to stress if it somehow gets ruined.

DIY Shirts

Another simple, and inexpensive idea, is to create your own t-shirt. I’ve had fun making bleach design shirt as well as freezer paper stenciled shirts in the past. Last year Trent’s cousins made the entire family matching shirts. We were happily “those” people and honestly it was really cool on the ride photos – we were an easy group to spot out!

I promised the kids they could help make some fun shirts for our cruise. As of now it sounds like his will feature Mickey and hers Minnie, of course.

What’s your favorite tip for getting Disney style for less?
