Since having kids, we enjoy watching football games on tv at home more often than we get to an actual game. Wanting to still enjoy the fun of tailgating, we set up a small “homegating” station complete with drinks and snacks. I created my own football table runner to give it that extra little something.

It’s a very easy project and perfect for use at home or at a game. Here’s how to create your own …

Supplies

  • Burlap – we purchased ours locally at The Scrap Exchange
  • Freezer paper
  • Masking tape
  • Green spray paint
  • Fabric scissors

Instructions

Step 1 Cut your burlap to size.

Step 2 Draw “lines” and yard numbers onto freezer paper. Cut out. Carefully place onto burlap and iron to secure.

Step 3 Outline the entire “field” with masking tape. This will allow for a natural edge to your finished runner.

Step 4 Outdoors or in a well ventilated area, use green spray paint to cover the entire “field”. Allow to dry.

Step 5 Once paint has dried, carefully remove the freezer paper. Trim edges, if desired, and remove the masking tape.

Your football table runner is now complete and ready to use for your next party or homegating family event!
