We love picking a family theme each fall and coming up with fun costume ideas for Halloween. Here are our past favorites to inspire you.
Ghostbusters | Mary Poppins | Mickey & Minnie | Minions | Monsters, Inc | Pac-Man
Ralph Breaks the Internet | Scooby Doo | Star Wars | Sword in the Stone | Toy Story | Zoo
I stumbled across the cutest little monkey costume at a consignment sale when our son was a year old. It inspired a very easy and laid back “Zoo” theme with us as the zoo keepers.
A family of 3 at the time, we dressed up as Jessie, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear!
While we failed at a family photo that year, we did have pretty cute Mike, Sully, and Boo costumes.
This idea was our son’s. He wanted all of us – including his new baby sister (who arrived just in time!) – to dress up as yellow Minions.
I had to veto the big kid’s attempt to dress up his little sister as a dog. She made an adorable Velma though when we dressed up as the Scooby Doo Gang.
Who ya gonna call? How about the Ghostbusters, Janine Melnitz, and an adorable little ghost?
What’s more fun than double Mary and Bert? You’ll be singing Chim Chim Cher-ee as you Trick or Treat.
Sword in the Stone
This was such a fun theme! We had King Arthur, Archimedes the owl, Madam Mim, and Merlin.
Minnie and Mickey Mouse
Steamboat Willie and Vintage Minnie Mouse made a side by side appearance with their Technicolor counterparts.
Coming on Halloween 2020 from a galaxy far, far away …
Retro game fun with Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and ghosts!
Ralph Breaks the Internet
Inspired by the sequel to Wreck It Ralph, Fix-It Felix Jr, Spamley, and Princesses Anna & Elsa made their grand appearance on the Disney Dream before Halloween fun at home.
