Last year for Father’s Day I was trying to come up with something a little bit different for my husband. Since we rarely give gifts and instead give “memories” (i.e., something you can do like a trip or attend a sporting event, etc), I opted for a twist on that.
Two things came to mind –
- the fact that 4 months later we would have a new addition to the family and both have a further limit on our “me” time, and
- the fact he enjoys going to the driving range, but rarely makes time to do so.
My quick idea was to get him a gift certificate to the driving range. But then another, slightly more creative, idea hit me and instead I created a little design in Photoshop and printed it onto 4 envelopes:
Supplies: Fore mini kit by Robyn Meierotto.
I checked with the driving range to determine the cost of a small basket of balls and placed cash in each of the envelopes. This way he had no excuse except to find time to go and hit some balls.
To finish it off, I simply stacked the 4 envelopes and tied with a green ribbon. Simple, fun, easy gift that was a hit. 😉
