My son brought home this sweet Hand and Footprint Turkey craft he made in school for Thanksgiving.
The turkey body was made from his footprint (shoe print) and the “feathers” from his hands. I love how his teacher had him write things he was thankful for on each of the feathers.
This is a fun craft to recreate for Thanksgiving. Here is how to make one with your child:
Supplies
- Construction paper – white, brown, red, orange, and yellow
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Instructions
Step 1 Trace your child’s shoe onto the brown construction paper and cut out.
Step 2 Trace your child’s hand onto the red, orange, and yellow construction paper. Cut out
Step 3 Encourage your child to write something they are thankful for onto each “feather.” This could be family, friends, favorite foods, new toys – whatever they are thankful for right now.
Step 4 Glue the hand “feathers” onto the body shape.
Step 5 Cut a wattle from red paper.
Step 6 Draw eyes, a mouth, and feet on white paper. Cut out.
Step 7 Glue on the features to complete your hand and footprint turkey.
