I love kids’ handprint art. It’s fun, simple, and personal. To have a little Halloween fun with handprints, we created an adorable handprint spider! He’s cute and not so scary. Perfect for little ones to get into the spirit and not get overly spooked.

Handprint Spider Craft Complete

Here is how to create your own Handprint Spider:

Supplies

  • Watercolor paper or cardstock
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Foam paint brushes
  • Googly eyes

Instructions

Step 1 Paint one of your child’s hands with black acrylic paint. You’ll want to paint the the palm of the hand and four fingers.

Step 2 Help your child gently press their hand to the paper and create a print. Clean the paint off their hand.

Step 3 Paint the other hand and repeat the process slightly overlapping with the first print to create a single spider “body” shape and 8 legs.

Step 4 After paint is fully dried, use glue to attach 2 googly eyes.

Your Handprint Spider is complete! Frame and enjoy or gift to a grandparent. Make several and string together to create a fun Halloween garland. It would also be fun for cards to send out at Halloween. The possibilities are about as endless as your imagination. Have fun crafting!

Be sure to make a ghost footprint too! The perfect companion project for fun and unique Halloween decor.
