I Can See Clearly Now…

January 30, 2008 Sarah Coggins

No rain, but definitely clear blue skies. 🙂 After work I had my yearly eye exam. I had been pretty excited to see this time come as I could tell my vision was off. Surprisingly, it was only my right eye which had worsened. I was expecting to hear both had changed. I happily drove home with a new set of contacts. Amazing the difference that can make especially at night. Will have to wait on new glasses though until we have time to go look around. I haven’t had a new pair in 2 years and want a some so I’m not stuck with only the option of contacts, but I also hate picking them out. Always so hard to find a pair that fits my face & looks modern. Not trendy. Just up-to-date.

I appreciate all the well wishes on my last post! Migraines are miserable to say the least. I am always relieved to return to normal after one passes.

Managed to continue my early walking again today. I’m pretty excited because it’s really fitting my schedule better. Now I can truly come home and collapse and not feel guilty. 😉 Also, last night at the grocery store I treated myself to a gossip magazine for a little guilty pleasure reading while on the treadmill. The catch – I only let myself read it while walking.

Finally, a small update on my furbaby, Cali. Last Friday the vet left me a voicemail to say the bloodwork came back a-ok! She still wants to talk to me about what to do to help Cali with her weight. I haven’t had another call so I’m going to try calling tomorrow and see if I can get more feedback. In the meantime, I’m spoiling both cats with canned food twice a day (they normally only get some at breakfast) in hopes of Cali eating more. Of course, this means I have to stand guard or lock Chester up temporarily as the little piggy likes to steal Cali’s canned food. No wonder the girl is so skinny.

It's like the world is a brighter place after new eyeglasses! Don't give up hope - I searched for my frames for six months, and must have tried on hundreds before finding the perfect pair. I had to finally ditch the mall/chain stores and go to a funky little high end shop. They're worth every penny. :)

I'm always amazed at how clear and vibrant things are when my prescription changes. Usually it's so subtle I don't realize I even need to change.

Keep up the walking...and the treating yourself :)

Glad to hear your furbaby is ok.

Good news on the eye exam and kitty's bloodwork. Great job on sticking to the walking! I love the gossip mags - sometimes we need some trashy, lite reading, right?

Good luck on your search for new glasses! DH and DD both wear glasses most of the time, so it's always a huge decision for them when it comes around :) I hope your conversation with the vet is a positive one today.

Glad Cali is ok! We have the same problem, here. Tinsel dropped a bit of weight, and Lily picked it up (and then some!). Plus, with Lily in the house, Tinsel gets a lot more exercise than she used to! Unless I am standing guard over the food bowls, I have taken to feeding Tinsel completely separately, and at night when Lily goes to the basement (because she's a terror) Tinsel gets an extra helping of food. She's gained back the weight now and looks much better.
