Our England Adventure – A First Look

Trent and I spent the past week in England celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We split our time between Oxford and London. Although we returned on Friday afternoon, I’m still absorbing everything we did and saw in that time. Our first visit ever so we packed it full. Here’s a small glimpse …

The Headington Shark

This was on my “must see” list as soon as I heard about it. On the eastern side of Oxford is a home with a 25 foot shark sculpture coming out of the roof! After all our Sharknado parties over the years, I couldn’t resist seeing this. Thankfully I mentioned it to our chauffeur on our drive from Heathrow and he detoured to take us by for a quick view.

Oxford University

Visiting Oxford means visiting the University. I can’t put into words how taken I was with it all – the architecture, the history, the people. I’m sure I looked every bit the tourist as I roamed with my DSLR in hand taking photo after photo.

London, England

Our time in London was relatively brief and quite a difference compared to the quieter Oxford. We naturally visited a few of the touristy favorites – Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Kensington Gardens, and Buckingham Palace.

More to come as I have time to reflect and tell the stories. I did start a Smash book (my first) and just ordered photos to add so there will be an upcoming post sharing details of it soon.

Update: I shifted gears and opted to create a digital scrapbook album of our trip to England. Take a peek here.

Can't wait to see and read more. We were in London a few years ago. I want to go back.

Thanks! It was such a fun trip. I'll be honest - I liked Oxford a lot better than London. Prettier, smaller, friendlier.
