I took this photo of the American Flag during our visit to the USS North Carolina a couple weeks ago. It proudly flies at the stern of the ship looking out at the Cape Fear River and downtown Wilmington.
This photo seemed particularly relevant today given that the Battleship serves as a memorial to World War II veterans including 11,000 North Carolinians that died in the war.
Those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country then, as well as in time before and after, we have not forgotten. Thank you.
