Mommy & Me Monday: Geocaching Selfie

Mommy & Me Monday: the Selfie Edition

December 28, 2015 Sarah Coggins

Christmas Day was enjoyable, full, and exhausting (one little one up at 3:00am and one at 4:45am for the day!). So much so I forgot to get a family photo. And in the 2 days following…

But, I did get a selfie with my son thanks to my gift from my sister & family – a selfie stick!

Mommy & Me Monday: Christmas 2015 Selfie

I confess I was one of those eye rollers in the past when I saw people using these things. I still don’t see myself using it all the time, but it is fun. We took it with us on Saturday when we went geocaching and grabbed another shot then.

Mommy & Me Monday: Geocaching Selfie

D has really enjoyed it and taken several photos of himself. 🙂 I do like that it’s also gotten him to easily pose & smile with me for a photo. I foresee a lot of joint selfies in our future. Perhaps that’ll be a photo book I’ll make in 2016?

Do you have a selfie stick or did you get another fun Christmas gift?

Cute pics!! I thought selfie sticks were silly too when I first heard about them. But that's mostly because what popped into mind was teenagers taking millions of selfies, making what they thought were attractive faces. Lol. I think I'd like one for myself though, it would make it a lot easier for me to get mommy & me pictures!!

We've only used it a few times, but it has been a lot of fun and definitely makes for easier Mommy & Me photos!

Oh these are great pictures! My sister got a selfie stick for Christmas, too, and like you, we all rolled our eyes at first but then we realized how awesome it actually is!

It is fun and makes for less weird photos when you don't have someone else to snap them. Funny thing, Trent & Elise were with us geocaching - just a short distance away with the stroller on the greenway - so we *could* have had them take our photo, but this was more fun. Also, I know you can understand, I'm a little picky about the composition sometimes so the selfie stick gives me more control. Oooh! Maybe I'll use it tonight. NYE selfies! :)

Love it! I actually have two from different conferences, but they aren't strong enough to hold my phone very well, so I don't use them much. However, my kids love them! Great pictures and glad you were able to enjoy some family time!

That probably would have been my issue (strength) if I had bought my own. I kept seeing the "deal" ones everywhere for about $5. Even the dollar store has a variety although at a glance it didn't even have a button so I'm not sure how that one is supposed to work! I only spotted it after Christmas. Had a good chuckle though especially since it had a weird name like the "self photo stick."
