Mother's Day Tradition: Strawberry Picking

Mother’s Day Tradition

May 11, 2015 Sarah Coggins

Thankful for a wonderful day with my family yesterday and that the rain held off (minus a few sprinkles) until late in the afternoon so we could continue our Mother’s Day tradition – strawberry picking!

Mother's Day Tradition: Strawberry Picking

Dylan has been asking for weeks now if the local farm is open and we we could go. I promised we would try on Mother’s Day assuming the weather was good. I was worried about it being too hot. Last year was a bit of a scorcher particularly seeing as I was pregnant at the time. Instead, we had a cooler, cloudier day thanks to a tropical depression heading our way.

The two of us had fun picking strawberries while Trent & Elise looked on. She was wide eyed with curiosity about the entire adventure. Next year I expect she’ll be shoving them into her mouth!

Interestingly, this is the same farm we went to early last October to pick pumpkins when I was really, really pregnant 😉 and, both times, I forgot to get in a picture! Unless you count my hand holding the bucket & sneakers in that bottom left photo from yesterday. Glad I did think to get a photo with both kids after church!

Do you have a Mother’s Day tradition?

So glad you got in these! What a fun tradition, too. Mother's Day is hit or miss here if we can pick strawberries. We actually went today and they said it was the last day to pick for the year!
