Last weekend marked the end of the 2nd annual NC Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Ampitheatre in Cary. Thanks to the suggestion of a friend, we got tickets for the final night and were able take in all of the gorgeous lantern displays. I debated taking my DSLR, but opted for just using my phone which worked well to capture a few shots and was easier while keeping up with our kids. Here are a few of my favorite photos:
One of the highlights of the festival, the dragon is 200 feet long and 21 feet high!
The kids ran around from display to display most of the night. As it got closer to bedtime, I coaxed my daughter into her Líllébaby CarryOn for cuddles and a better view of the performances.
The swans were one of my favorites – the design, colors, and reflection of the water.
Have you ever seen Chinese lanterns in person?
