Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft for Kids

Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft for Kids

September 18, 2013 Sarah Coggins

How cute is this little paper plate pumpkin my son made in preschool? It’s a fun way to learn about pumpkins. We’ve had all sort of fun talking about pumpkin sizes and colors (there are more than orange!) as well as how you can eat the seeds. We’ll definitely be trying that next month when we get pumpkins for Halloween.

Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft

In the meantime, here is how to create your own little pumpkin:

Supplies

  • 1 small paper plate
  • Orange crayons or paint
  • Green and brown construction paper

Instructions

Step 1 Color the paper plate orange with crayons or paint. (If paint, set aside and allow to dry.)

Step 2 Cut a square or rectangle from the green paper to create a stem. Glue to the top of the plate.

Step 3 Cut small oval shapes from the brown paper to create seeds. Glue the seeds onto the body of the pumpkin.

Your Paper Plate Pumpkin is complete! Hang to enjoy and decorate for Halloween.
