Late last month I stumbled across the Virtual Book Club for Kids. I love the idea of combining books with activities. This month’s book was The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
We borrowed a board book copy from our library and pulled out a couple other Peter Rabbit books we owned (Peter Rabbit Munch! and Peter Rabbit Peekaboo!). Elise is obsessed with books right now so the more the merrier – especially when you can add fun options with flaps to peek behind and pieces “bitten” off.
Then we pulled out a plush rabbit and some of our toy vegetables from Ikea to play with so we could act out parts of the books.
Simple fun, but a good way to introduce vegetables and their names for a toddler.
April’s book is Corduroy! See the Virtual Book Club for Kids site for the full list of books and visit their Facebook Page for more activities.
