Last week our daughter was “Student of the Week” for her preschool class. Within reason, you can celebrate almost any way you would like. We made an “All About Me” poster, Trent visited on Wednesday to read to the class, and she took in a few items for show and tell. We also purchased special snacks to share one day – Pirate’s Booty!

Mom confession – this was the fastest, easiest, nut free item I could get while fighting the crowd on Monday buying hurricane preparation supplies. The thought had already crossed my mind, but I was willing to grab almost anything that I could find. Thankfully, BJ’s Wholesale had plenty of 36 count boxes of these and preschoolers love them.

Hurricane Preparation: BJ's Shopping Cart

Some of our needed groceries plus hurricane supplies. One package of water went to a coworker with two kids (including a newborn) whose husband works for the power company. The other was donated to our church’s Emergency Response Team.

Since we knew her week would be cut short by Hurricane Florence (it was evident by Monday that schools would be closed on Friday at the very least), we went all out on Tuesday. The Pirate’s Booty was the perfect excuse to dress her up. We pulled out her Pirate Night attire from our Disney Cruise in May including the hat. Arrgh! I managed to get a few photos before school. Then her teachers kindly sent us a few more of her handing out the snacks in full pirate attire. So cute.

Are your kids fans of this fun snack too?
