Over the weekend we went downtown to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences for Astronomy Day. The day was pretty gloomy and overcast until we got to the top level of the main building and I noticed a bit of sun coming in through the glass dome over the Terror of the South dinosaur room.
I’ve been in this room many times over the years. Usually I take a photo from the lower floor straight up at the “flying” pterosaurs. But when I saw how the sunlight was coming in on the upper level, I headed to overlook to try something different and get my capture for this week’s Project 52 Photos theme of Shadows.
I loved how the shadows play on the walls and the windows plus that glimpse of the state Legislative Building and the American Flag. (Look real closely and you’ll spot a bit of the NC state flag as well.)
And, for fun – here’s another photo I took in that same room in October 2002. There used to be a plexiglass(?) floor in one area. It’s been covered over for years now. This particular visit I was with my brother & sister. My feet are at the bottom.
Join in the fun at any time. Next week’s challenge is Morning. Find the full list on Sarah Halsteads’s blog here.
