During a family walk along the greenway at Lake Lynn Park last Sunday, we spotted a couple of Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies along the edge of the trail. They were there for quite a while. I managed to get fairly close to take this shot with my iPhone using the Camera+ app.
They moved a bit closer together but stayed on the ground there. We saw them again later when we passed by on our return to our car. I’m not sure the reason they stayed in this spot … wings drying off? A mating ritual? Nearing the end of life? Regardless, we appreciated the opportunity to stop and admire their beauty up close.
Linking up with Photo Friday.
