What did I say last week? I wanted a snow day? Well, we got one thanks to Winter Storm Jonas. It began on Friday as sleet and freezing rain, but, thankfully, on Saturday we finally saw some snow and could get out to really enjoy.
Supplies: paperwhite {snow} by Sara Gleason (snowflakes); Here we Come a Caroling mini kit by Celeste Knight (paper); Cherished mini kit by Dawn by Design (paint); Project 365 – Photo Clusters vol 2 by Karen Funk (frames); Right Now kit by Karla Dudley (brad); To Gather mini collaboration from The Digital Press (heart).
My daughter was not too sure about all of it from the cold to the crazy attire, but quickly got into it enjoying rides in her baby sled and laying on the ground making snow angels while watching the flakes fall. My son, of course, had a blast sledding and his sister was happy to cheer him on. Maybe next year we’ll let her take a ride down the hill. Maybe. But one thing is for sure, we need a new sled! After 3 winters, ours is officially busted.
It slowly gained more duct tape than plastic as the weekend progressed! And, we weren’t the only ones in the neighborhood with the issue. It was actually pretty amusing to watch. A few snapped mid-ride. One, similar to ours, had the back snap right off with the adult while the two small kids at the front kept on going downhill!
Needless to say, we’ve had a fun, unexpected long weekend. Did you get hit by the storm too or enjoy warmer weather?
