Summer in the Moment: July & August

In spite of year round school, the last two months have been full of adventures … so much so, I forgot to write a July post! (You can find the June post here.)

Here’s an overview of our summer in the moment fun for July & August …

We took a road trip to Virginia complete with geocaching, swimming, and beer tasting (that part was adults only! 😉 ).

We enjoyed last minute open play at Rainbow Room on a hot afternoon.

We stopped by Quail Ridge books to search for Waldo and select a couple of books for Dylan’s birthday. He took time to read a book to Elise.

We had water gun fights, more running through the sprinkler, and dressed up like cows for Cow Appreciation Day.

We made Sprite Gummy Popsicles and attended our neighborhood’s annual Fiesta Pool Party.

We watched the annual Fire Truck Parade and managed 4 park stops in one day to get more passport stamps.

We had a picnic at a local park and watched Trent’s softball team play.

We visited 3 children’s museums. Spent an afternoon swimming with cousins.

We watched airplanes land & take off at the RDU Observation Park. And spent time swinging in our own backyard.

We completed a few color experiments from a recent Kiwi Crate.

And, our fun isn’t over yet! Dylan is currently “tracked out” and on a break from school until after Labor Day so we’ll be soaking up a few more days of summer fun in the meantime.

What great summer memories! It's so funny how they can go from hating the water to enjoying it in such a quick time. We skipped dress like a cow day because it was the same week as Chick-fil-A camp and we all already got sandwiches. I couldn't do it again:)

Chick-fil-A camp?? That sounds awesome! My son would have us moving to ATL for that alone. :)

This is so great - and I am so glad you shared. You certainly made Summer in the Moment look awesome!
